How would I know the lava rocks and similiar are no longer needed...I had a nice bag of special rocks of some sort all ready to add to my new grill when it came and got it ready but where is the grill that holds the rocks? Does not need them, guess I had not looked into this but anyway, grill is now a bit over year and a half old and I use it several times a week and love it. Had a problem with the top grill peeling after this time and contacted Weber through Amazon and few sentences and quick answer and new grill ( comes in 2 parts which is great and easy to clean and take out ) came week or so later no questions asked. Looks like new and works as good as the day I brought my lava rocks back to Home Depot for refund...First Class Company and service.
